Finding the right insurance for scaffolders can be difficult due to the unique risks of the business. You can spend hours searching for the right insurance, supplying your information again and again, only to find that scaffolders are not accepted on standard tradesman insurance packages. At Broker Power, we have developed an insurance package tailored specifically for scaffolders that includes all of the cover you require as standard. This includes Public Liability insurance and Employers’ Liability insurance, as well as some optional cover for items such as tools or legal expenses. We work with brokers in your area, so if you need to talk to somebody about your policy, you can meet an insurance professional face-to-face rather than speaking to an advisor at a call centre.
Our scaffolders’ insurance package has Public Liability and Employers’ Liability cover at its core, which protects your business should property become damaged or if someone is injured and ensures that you comply with your legal obligations as an employer. We also offer optional covers for Legal Expenses (access to dedicated helplines is included as standard,) Tools, Contract Works, Own and Hired In Plant, allowing you to build the package that is perfect for you.
Public Liability Insurance for scaffolders covers you for compensation that you may have to pay as a result of injury to a member of the public or damage to property that you have caused while carrying out your work. Public Liability Insurance at the right level is absolutely essential for scaffolding businesses and we can offer up to £5,000,000 of cover.
Employers’ Liability Insurance with an indemnity of at least £5,000,000 is a legal requirement for almost all UK businesses (there are a few exceptions) and it covers you for compensation that you have become liable for if an employee has become ill or injured whilst in your employment. Within our Employers’ Liability Cover for scaffolders, we provide a standard indemnity limit of £10,000,000.
Our Tools Insurance provides you with cover for tools, mobile phones and business materials, including equipment belonging to, borrowed, or leased by an employee of up to £2,000 per manual worker. This insurance is in force anywhere within Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and for up to 21 consecutive days anywhere else in the World.
Contract Works Insurance is tailored for businesses like yours that work on construction sites and it covers works in progress that are not yet completed and have suffered a loss such as a fire, flood or theft. A loss like this may result in you having to do the work twice even though you are only getting paid once, Contract Works Insurance will cover that difference. If you need this cover then you should make sure that you have sufficient cover for your largest contract; we have many levels of cover available up to £500,000.
Own Plant Insurance covers damage or theft of your own plant and machinery and as this is likely to be left unattended at building sites we feel that this is an important option for the scaffolding trade. Cover of up to £20,000 can be selected.
Hired In Plant Insurance protects your legal liability under the terms of the hiring agreement when hiring in items of plant. The sum insured should reflect the maximum value of the plant you may need to hire for any specific contract. Cover can be selected of up to £50,000 and also includes £5,000 for continuing hire charges in the event of a loss.
Our standard Legal Expenses cover for our scaffolding clients includes free dedicated legal helplines which can give you advice on European Commercial Law, Tax Advice, Business Assistance and Counselling; you will also have access to a comprehensive Employment Manual with up-to-date guidance on employment law.
Our standard Legal Expenses cover also gives you access to a free, online resource of letters, articles and forms to help you with the day-to-day running of your business. We also offer Extended Legal Expenses cover, which includes everything you get with the standard cover plus our provider, DAS, will negotiate on your behalf in respect of Employment Disputes and Compensation Awards, Legal Defence, Contract Disputes, Debt Recovery, Property Protection and Bodily Injury and Tax Protection.Get a Quote now.
